Interns at ECI may engage with many of the specialized areas we excel in, such as geotechnical construction, pipeline rehabilitation, dam/hydro work, underground construction, and custom design build solutions. Internship Types

Our internships are available for both fieldwork and office roles, providing flexibility for students interested in all aspects of the construction industry. Whether you want to focus on a specific area or gain exposure to a variety of disciplines, ECI can create an experience that matches your needs. Availability & Duration

Most of our internships take place over the summer and run for 12 weeks, but we offer flexibility. If you’re looking for opportunities outside the typical summer window, we’re open to accommodating year-round internships. Don’t hesitate to ask—we’re happy to work with your schedule.

Logistics

While some internships may offer housing and vehicle allowances, this varies depending on the job and location. Additional logistics like housing and transportation support are sometimes available based on the project.

Internship FAQ’s

  • If your job site is outside of daily commuting distance, ECI will provide housing and a vehicle allowance to support your work experience.

  • Yes, interns receive an hourly wage for the work completed during their internship.

  • Most internships last for 12 weeks. You may spend your entire internship on one job site, or you could rotate through various job sites, depending on the projects and your interests.

  • No, we offer internships for both fieldwork and office roles, ensuring exposure to all facets of the construction industry.

  • We welcome interns from various degree programs, including but not limited to Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, and Construction Management.

  • No, you do not need to have completed your degree to apply. We accept students currently pursuing either an associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field.
